Invisalign FAQ

Brunette woman smiles in a turtleneck sweater while holding her Invisalign clear aligners

It’s normal to have a ton of questions before committing to an involved dental treatment like Invisalign®. Our team loves when our patients take an active role in their oral healthcare by seeking out additional information so they can make informed decisions.

Here are answers to common questions we get about this orthodontic procedure.

What Can Invisalign Fix?

Invisalign clear aligners are able to fix a number of different mild to moderate teeth misalignment issues. That includes crooked teeth, gapped teeth, underbites, overbites, crossbites, and more! The severity of each of these issues can vary, so you’ll need to schedule a constellation to learn how Invisalign might benefit you specifically. Some misalignment issues are better addressed with traditional braces, a versatile orthodontic treatment that can used for patients of all ages.

How Long Will My Treatment Take?

Everyone looks forward to finally have their picture-perfect smile and they want it sooner rather than later! But how long your Invisalign treatment takes will entirely depend on how severe your teeth misalignment is and if you wear your aligners at least 20-22 hours a day. Generally, average treatment time is 12 to 18 months.

How Often Can I Take Off My Invisalign Aligners?

You can pop off your aligners at any time to eat, brush, and floss or to take a family photo. Take note that if you’ve eaten or drank anything other than water, you should brush your teeth and rinse your aligners before putting them back in. Additionally, be careful to keep your trays in a safe place when they’re not in your mouth to avoid losing them.
